Martha Stewart has a magical ability to bring the “Martha” out of any product she touches. It’s why we’ve seen her everywhere this year — smiling on a Bic lighter, topless in a coffee commercial and in the Oreoverse as part of a campaign for the iconic cookie brand. But out of her dozens of collaborations and partnerships, one brand she continues coming back to is Skechers.
This week, the 82 year-old businesswoman and television personality launched her second capsule collection with the footwear brand. And like everything she has her hand in designing, the collection has her signature “Martha touch,” with faux-fur trims and a fall-inspired color palette filled with her favorite hues.
“I wear a lot of basic colors like beige, olive green, muted blues and browns,” Stewart said in a statement. “I felt there weren’t that many of those colors in the Skechers line. And with my collection we now have that, ladies, and gentlemen. I think [people] are going to love the new color tones.”
The collection includes an update on her go-to sneaker, the Hands-Free Slip-ons, designed with an exclusive Heel Pillow to securely hold your foot in place, in addition to a unique Comfort Pillow design, an Air-Cooled Memory Foam cushioned insole and a Stretch Fit outsole. Also included in the capsule are a variety of clog styles, platform sneakers and lace-up boots.
“None of these shoes would be in the collection if I didn’t love them! That’s the way I work. I really
wanted each and every style to be useful, practical, beautiful and wearable,” Stewart says. “It was extremely important for me to partner with a company that was paying attention to comfort
without sacrificing style. I stand on my feet sometimes for 8 to 9 hours a day, so I wanted elevated
looking shoes designed with comfort technology and Skechers has it all.”
