Dave Chappelle’s ‘Dreamer’ Lands at No. 5
Stand-up comedy specials dominated the Netflix Top 10 English TV chart during the holiday viewing window (Dec. 25-31) as Ricky Gervais’ “Armaggedon” opened atop the list of titles following its Dec. 25 debut with 8 million total views. Therefore, pushing “My Life With the Walter Boys” down to No. 2 after the show’s two-week run at No. 1.
Meanwhile, Dave Chappelle’s “Dreamer” quickly began trending online following its Dec. 31 debut as the comedian continued to crack jokes regarding his stance on the trans community. The special debuted at No. 5 on the chart 2.2 million views counted during this viewing window. Since only the first day of viewing managed to make the chart, it’s likely the special will see a jump by the next viewing window, which will have counted its first full week of availability.
Trevor Noah’s “Where Was I?” also made the chart for the second week. After previously opening at No. 3 on last week’s Netflix Top 10, the hour-long standup moved to No. 8 with 1.7 million views counted in its first full week of streaming.
More to come…
