Oscar Nominations 2024: Full List of Nominees
The countdown to the 2024 Oscars has officially started. All of the nominations for the 96th annual Academy Awards are being announced on Tuesday morning.
Actors Zazie Beetz (“Atlanta,” “Joker: Folie à Deux”) and Jack Quaid (“The Boys,” “Oppenheimer“) were on hand to announce the nominees live from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
The 2024 Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 10 at 4 p.m. PT at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles. Jimmy Kimmel is returning as the host for the second consecutive year and his fourth time emceeing overall.
After its leading five Golden Globe wins, Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” is expected to be the frontrunner heading into the Academy Awards. Its stars Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. both won Globes for lead and supporting actors in a drama, and Nolan won best director. The film, a three-hour, R-rated biopic about the creator of the atomic bomb, also won best motion picture – drama after it took the world by storm last summer, in part thanks to the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon.
Other major players at this year’s Academy Awards are projected to be Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things,” Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Justine Triet’s “Anatomy of a Fall,” Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro,” Cord Jefferson’s “American Fiction,” Celine Song’s “Past Lives” and more.
